- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Interpret legislative processes, procedures, and how a bill becomes law.
- Conduct timely analysis of rapidly changing congressional activities and initiatives.
- Contribute to the implementation of federal government legislative priorities.
- Maintain and update databases for congressional/political groups and staff, supporting witness preparation for hearings.
- *Qualifications (Depending on GS Level: GS-11, GS-12, or GS-13):**
- **GS-11:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-9, or a Ph.D./equivalent doctoral degree, 3 full years of graduate education, or an LL.M., or a qualifying combination of education and experience.
- **GS-12:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11.
- **GS-13:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12.
- Specialized experience generally includes: legislative interpretation, database management, analysis of congressional activities, and/or input on legislative priorities. All relevant experience, including volunteer work, will be credited.
- *Important Note:** A 1-year probationary period is required. All qualifications must be met by the application closing date.
