Summary
Lead UX/UI Designer sought to drive human-centered design, mentor teams, and deliver high-quality digital solutions for a major insurer.
GEICO is seeking a customer-obsessed and results-oriented **Lead UX/UI Designer** to drive high-quality, human-centered product solutions. You will lead design programs, mentor designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product experiences.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days on-site weekly in Chevy Chase, MD; New York City, NY; Chicago, IL; Palo Alto, CA; Seattle, WA; or Dallas, TX.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to identify customer and business needs.
- Translate complex ideas into clear, user-friendly concepts and solutions.
- Lead design initiatives across user research, requirements, workflows, interface design, and usability studies.
- Champion the customer through human-centered design methods and user testing.
- Facilitate workshops and drive the end-to-end product design process.
- Create process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and UI specifications.
- Deliver design assets for development and market launch.
- Mentor and guide other designers on project teams.
- *Basic Qualifications:**
- 8+ years of User Experience design experience.
- 2+ years leading and mentoring design teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience designing for cross-channel experiences (responsive web and native mobile).
- Demonstrated ability to work across user research, UX design, UI design, and specifications.
- Ability to design and implement service design solutions and experience strategy initiatives.
- Experience leading project teams of multiple designers within agile development environments.
- Strong collaboration skills with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Effective communication and storytelling skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma).
- Familiarity with established design systems in agile development teams.
- *Annual Salary Range:** $120,950.00 - $212,175.00. Salary is dependent on multiple factors including experience, education, training, and location. GEICO will not sponsor new employment authorization for this position.
