The Department of Defense is seeking a highly skilled GS-14 Contracting Officer to lead complex acquisition processes. This role involves managing the full contract lifecycle from planning and development to negotiation, award, administration, and performance assessment. **Key Responsibilities:** * Serve as a lead Contracting Officer, managing the entire acquisition lifecycle. * Develop acquisition plans and comprehensive packages. * Negotiate and award contracts. * Administer and assess contract performance. * Ensure strict compliance with procurement policies and regulations. * Contribute to improving organizational and mission effectiveness. **Qualifications:** * **Experience:** * Minimum of one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 federal level (or equivalent), performing duties as a lead Contracting Officer in acquisition planning, negotiation, award, administration, and performance assessment, ensuring regulatory compliance. * At least two years of general experience in contracting positions. * **Education:** * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. *Official transcripts are required from all applicants.* * *Education Exemption:* Current DoD employees or Armed Forces members who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with contract award/administration authority above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30, 2000, are exempt from the degree requirement. Proof of service/position prior to this date (e.g., SF-50) is required for disqualification if not provided. * **Training/Certification:** * Completion of (or willingness to complete) all required contracting courses for a Contracting Officer at this grade level. Relevant certification is acceptable. * **Federal Service Requirements (if applicable):** * For entry at the GS-14 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-13 or higher grade in the Federal Service. * **Key Competencies:** * Communication * Contracting/Procurement * Leading People All qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date.
