Job Description

Summary

Lead Audiologist (GS-13) to provide comprehensive audiology care, oversee clinic operations, and lead a clinical team.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Lead Audiologist (GS-13)** to provide comprehensive audiology services and lead a clinical team.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Provide comprehensive audiology clinical services to patients.
  • Lead and coordinate a diverse clinical audiology team (comprising 25% or more of duties).
  • Oversee day-to-day clinic operations and ensure efficient workload completion.
  • Coordinate special projects and clinical objectives.
  • Collect, analyze, and incorporate data to monitor and evaluate clinic efficiency, utilization, quality, and effectiveness.
  • Adjust work assignments and methods to achieve established priorities and optimize patient care.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • **Citizenship:** United States Citizenship.
  • **Language:** Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • **Education:**
* Doctor of Audiology (AuD) from an Audiology program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE) or the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). * or Other doctoral degree in hearing science or a directly related field from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting institution. * *Note: Foreign education must be evaluated and deemed equivalent to conventional U.S. programs.*
  • **Licensure:** Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice audiology at the doctoral level in a United States state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • **Experience:**
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a professional audiologist. * At least one (1) year of experience comparable to the next lower grade level (GS-12).
  • **Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):**
* Ability to effectively lead a diverse clinical team on work methods, practices, and procedures. * Skill in coordinating assignments, special projects, and objectives to lead work. * Adept at monitoring work, evaluating programs, and adjusting to accomplish the workload efficiently.

  • *Preferred Experience:**
  • Minimum five (5) years as a licensed audiologist.
  • Currently Telehealth Certified within VA (or equivalent in the private sector).
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Tele Audiology.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Aurical Free fit for hearing testing and hearing aid fittings.
  • Documented experience precepting/mentoring graduate audiology students.
  • Documented experience in leadership and/or management roles.
  • *Physical Requirements:** Ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
