Summary
Junior Web Developer for SAIC, supporting DoD strategic communications with web development, UI/UX, and WordPress expertise, requiring a Secret clearance.
SAIC is seeking a Junior Web Developer to support strategic communication and outreach for the Office of the Under Secretary of Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). This hybrid-remote role involves working independently within a small, collaborative team to enhance digital presence and communication strategies.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage small web development tasks using WordPress CMS, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop, focusing on graphic design and UI/UX.
- Collaborate with public affairs analysts, graphic designers, and developers to execute effective communication strategies and deliver consistent messaging.
- Support the creation of compelling visual and digital content aligned with organizational goals.
- Draft, edit, and publish social media content (LinkedIn) for the R&E enterprise and DoD.
- Track media activities, prepare daily media clips, and monitor the information environment.
- Provide strategic communications support, including coordinating media engagements, preparing leadership quotes, and tracking external outreach.
- Review, analyze, and recommend solutions for public affairs challenges.
- Produce reports and briefs related to communication activities.
- Ensure website compliance with Section 508 standards.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Education & Experience:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Communications, or a related field with at least three (3) years of web development experience; or a Master's degree with one (1) year of related experience.
- **Technical Skills:** Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Familiarity with GitHub for version control.
- **Web Development:** Strong understanding of front-end development, UI/UX principles, and Section 508 compliance.
- **Communication & PA:** Experience writing, editing, and researching for comprehensive written products. Familiarity with DoD Public Affairs processes and strategic communications.
- **Clearance:** Active DoD Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- **Other:** U.S. citizenship. Demonstrated ability to interface with senior officials.
- *Additional Information:**
- This is a hybrid-remote position with occasional onsite work required at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
- Travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
