Summary

Provide technical support, troubleshoot IT systems, and maintain hardware, ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking an IT Technical Support Specialist to provide comprehensive technical assistance and system maintenance. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Provide progressively responsible technical support for IT systems and users.
  • Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot computer hardware, peripherals, cell phones, and tablets.
  • Adhere to IT security best practices and policies.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain proficiency with Windows desktops and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • *Minimum Qualifications (Levels vary based on experience):**
  • **Entry Level (CL-25):** High school diploma/GED + 1 year of specialized IT technical support experience or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with Superior Academic Achievement.
  • **Experienced Levels (CL-26, CL-27, CL-28):** 2-4+ years of progressively responsible IT technical support experience, with at least one year at a level equivalent to CL-25 (GS-9) or higher. A Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement may substitute for some experience.
  • *Superior Academic Achievement (if applicable):**
  • Overall GPA of 2.90+ (on a 4.0 scale) or standing in the upper third of your class or 3.5+ GPA in your major field (e.g., Computer Science).
  • Alternatively, membership in specific national honorary scholastic societies or completion of 18 semester/27 quarter hours of graduate study in a relevant field.
  • *Required Competencies:**
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to function as a team player in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Proficiency with Windows desktops in a networked environment and Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds of IT equipment.
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting A/V systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and VoIP phone systems.
  • Experience configuring devices for remote access over VPN.
  • Relevant IT certifications.
  • Experience using servers and desktops in a virtualized environment.
