Summary
Seeking an IT Specialist to provide technical support, manage systems, and administer cloud environments for organizational IT operations.
We are seeking an IT Specialist to support our information technology operations at various levels, requiring strong technical competencies, customer service skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- *Responsibilities vary by grade level (GG-11/GG-12):**
- *GG-11 Responsibilities:**
- Provide IT customer support, managing ticketing systems, incident resolution, and account access.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of IT-related work and data.
- Offer information and routine services for IT products and needs.
- Communicate IT system status and basic technical information to diverse audiences.
- Identify and apply standard solutions to routine IT issues.
- *GG-12 Responsibilities (includes and expands upon GG-11):**
- Ensure secure installation, configuration, and security of operating systems.
- Administer cloud-based environments in alignment with the organization's IT framework.
- Review IT work and data for accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance (self and others).
- Maintain customer relationships, assess IT needs, and develop tailored solutions.
- Brief management and IT staff on system status, effectively conveying technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Address complex IT issues by gathering information from various sources to find solutions.
- *Qualifications:**
- *Education (one of the following):**
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science/Systems, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Technology Management, or a related field.
- A degree with a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the above fields, including experience in application, system, or network development/adaptation.
- *Experience (in addition to education/competencies):**
- **GG-11:** At least one year of experience performing IT Customer Support activities, including ticketing systems, incident management, and account access management.
- **GG-12:** At least one year of experience ensuring the installation, configuration, and security of operating systems and administering cloud-based environments in line with an IT framework.
- *Core Competencies (demonstrated through experience):**
- **Attention to Detail:** Ensuring accuracy and consistency in IT work.
- **Customer Service:** Providing support and solutions for IT needs.
- **Oral Communication:** Clearly conveying IT status and technical information.
- **Problem Solving:** Identifying and resolving IT-related issues.
- Note: Qualifying experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer work, and military service. All qualifications must be met within 30 days of the announcement closing date.*
