IT Specialist (Sysadmin/Appsw)

This role involves designing, deploying, and managing complex hybrid IT systems and cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments. You will play a critical role in project management and ensuring robust cybersecurity for enterprise systems. This position offers progression for experienced IT professionals, with increased leadership and strategic responsibilities at higher pay bands.

• *Key Responsibilities (Vary by Pay Band):**
• **Cloud & Hybrid IT Management:** Design, deploy, modify, and manage hybrid IT systems, cloud infrastructure, and applications using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS technologies in AWS or Azure. (Large-scale and complex systems for SV-J).
• **Project Management:** Plan, coordinate, execute, and deliver information systems projects. This includes tracking milestones, managing deliverables, and ensuring successful completion. (For SV-J, this expands to leading and managing entire programs, including technical design, implementation, and operations of critical systems).
• **Cybersecurity & Compliance:** Apply cybersecurity principles, engage in compliance activities (e.g., NIST RMF) to secure enterprise systems, infrastructure, and applications, working towards risk acceptance and Authority to Operate (ATO).
• **Strategic Communication (SV-J only):** Create and present briefings and management reports, effectively conveying complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel and senior management, interpreting policies into actionable information.

• *Specialized Experience Required:**
• **SV-I Pay Band (Equivalent to GS-13):** One year of specialized experience at the SV-H/GS-12 level or equivalent, including:

* Designing, deploying, modifying, and managing hybrid IT systems and cloud infrastructure/applications (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in AWS or Azure. * Managing information systems projects, tracking milestones, and ensuring deliverables. * Applying cybersecurity principles and engaging in compliance activities (e.g., NIST RMF) for enterprise systems, working towards ATO.

• **SV-J Pay Band (Equivalent to GS-14):** One year of specialized experience at the SV-I/GS-13 level or equivalent, including:

* Designing, deploying, modifying, and managing delivery of *large-scale, complex* hybrid IT systems, cloud infrastructure/applications (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in AWS or Azure. * *Leading and managing* information systems projects and programs, including planning, coordination, technical design, implementation, operations, and restoration of critical systems. * Creating and presenting briefings/management reports to convey complex technical requirements to diverse audiences and senior management.
