Seeking IT Specialists to design, develop, test, and maintain software and automated systems, requiring specialized experience or related education.
## IT Specialist (Software Development)
We are seeking dedicated IT Specialists to contribute to software development across various experience levels (GS-7, GS-9, GS-11). This role involves engaging in the full software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and maintenance of automated systems.
### Key Responsibilities (Varying by Grade Level):
- **GS-7:** Assist in software design specifications, coding, and test plan development; apply IT principles to software development processes.
- **GS-9:** Develop, implement, code, test, operate, and modify software and automated systems; conduct system requirement reviews; apply IT principles to software development.
- **GS-11:** Provide technical expertise and guidance on developing, implementing, coding, testing, operating, and modifying software and automated systems; lead system requirement reviews and implement corrective actions; apply complex IT principles to software development processes.
- **Attention to Detail:** Be thorough and conscientious in all tasks.
- **Customer Service:** Assess needs, provide support, resolve issues, and ensure quality products/services.
- **Oral Communication:** Effectively convey information, present clearly, and listen actively.
- **Problem Solving:** Identify problems, evaluate information, exercise sound judgment, and recommend solutions.
- *For GS-7:**
- **Experience:** One year (52 weeks) of IT-related experience equivalent to the GS-05 level, including assisting in software design/coding/testing and applying IT principles in development.
- **or Education:** One full year of graduate-level education in a directly related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Mathematics), or a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) in a directly related field. (Transcripts required)
- *For GS-9:**
- **Experience:** One year (52 weeks) of IT-related experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, including developing, implementing, coding, testing, operating, and modifying software and automated systems, conducting requirement reviews, and applying IT principles.
- **or Education:** A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a related field. (Transcripts required)
- *For GS-11:**
- **Experience:** One year (52 weeks) of IT-related experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, including providing expertise/guidance on software development, conducting requirement reviews with corrective action, and applying complex IT principles.
- **or Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a related field. (Transcripts required)
- *Related Fields:** Typically include Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Technology Management, or degrees with significant coursework (24+ semester hours) in these areas related to application/system/network development.
- All qualifying experience, including volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps), will be credited.
- Official transcripts are required for verification if qualifying based on education.
