Job Description

Summary

Join as an Information Management Specialist, investigating cybersecurity incidents and managing cyber defense systems.

We are seeking skilled Information Management Specialists to contribute to our cybersecurity efforts. This role involves investigating security incidents and managing critical defense systems.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Conduct thorough security incident investigations, including fact-finding, analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Resolve security problems and implement effective solutions.
  • (For GS-11) Perform system administration on cyber defense applications and systems.
  • *Core Competencies:**
  • **Attention to Detail:** Meticulous in task execution and data handling.
  • **Customer Service:** Proactively assess needs, provide support, and resolve issues for stakeholders.
  • **Oral Communication:** Clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • **Problem Solving:** Identify, analyze, and generate effective solutions for technical challenges.
  • *Minimum Qualifications (Choose ONE for GS-09 or GS-11):**
  • *For GS-09:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07, focused on security incident investigation (fact-finding, analysis, risk assessment, and problem resolution).
  • **Education:** A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Technology Management, or a related field (with a minimum of 24 semester hours in relevant subjects).
  • **Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and education.
  • *For GS-11:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09, including the GS-09 duties *plus* system administration on cyber defense applications and systems.
  • **Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Technology Management, or a related field (with a minimum of 24 semester hours in relevant subjects).
  • **Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and education.
  • *Additional Notes:**
  • Current federal employees must meet Time-in-Grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
  • Qualifying experience includes both paid and unpaid volunteer work.
