IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Infosec)

Join our team as an Information Technology Specialist (Cybersecurity) at the GG-12 level. This role requires at least one year of specialized experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on program development and security control implementation.

As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be responsible for enhancing an organization's security posture through robust program development and meticulous control research. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining the integrity and security of information systems.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Develop, maintain, and implement comprehensive security programs across the organization.
• Research and apply critical security controls, including those outlined in relevant cybersecurity special publications such as NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5.
• *Core Competencies (Basic Requirements):**
• **Attention to Detail:** Meticulously review IT work and data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency with established standards.
• **Customer Service:** Foster strong relationships with customers, identify IT needs, and provide tailored information technology products and services.
• **Oral Communication:** Clearly brief mid-level management and IT staff on system status, projects, and daily operations, effectively communicating technical information to diverse audiences.
• **Problem Solving:** Identify and evaluate alternative solutions for complex IT-related issues by gathering and applying information from various sources.
• *Qualifications:**
• A minimum of one year of experience demonstrating immediate success in developing, maintaining, and implementing security programs within an organization.
• Proven experience researching security controls, including specific knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5.
• Experience refers to any paid or unpaid work, volunteer service, or military service equivalent to the federal service's next lower grade level.
