Job Description

Summary

Federal IT Cybersecurity Specialist (GS-13/14) leads secure digital environments, conducts assessments, and provides expert cyber advice.

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Specialist with a focus on cybersecurity to join our federal team at either the GS-13 or GS-14 level. This role involves ensuring the security of our digital infrastructure and providing expert guidance on cyber threats and solutions.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **At the GS-13 Level:**
* Provide technical advice, counsel, and instruction on critical cybersecurity issues. * Conduct cybersecurity assessments and penetration tests, analyzing program data. * Coordinate technical cybersecurity efforts across agency departments. * Exchange information on cybersecurity requirements and prepare reports, briefings, and summaries.
  • **At the GS-14 Level:**
* Lead a digital services team to establish and maintain a secure environment for mission objectives. * Evaluate new and existing systems, networks, and software for security risks, recommending mitigation strategies. * Manage and lead assessments of databases, applications, and information system components. * Develop and recommend methodologies to enhance the security of cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12 for GS-13 applicants, GS-13 for GS-14 applicants) in the federal service or equivalent.
  • Specialized experience should equip you with the necessary competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the position's duties.
  • Relevant paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume must clearly describe this experience.
