IT Branch Manager #104

This leadership position is critical for overseeing IT and network operations, policies, and staff within a U.S. Senate organization, ensuring the continuous delivery of essential services.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Establish and implement policies and practices for branch operations, services, and staff.
• Serve as acting Director in their absence.
• Lead or participate in inter-legislative branch user groups, task forces, and steering committees.
• Represent the organization in meetings with senior management across legislative bodies.
• Plan, direct, manage, and supervise programs and activities of multiple technical units.
• Plan, assign, and review the work of technical, professional, and managerial personnel.
• Manage multi-million-dollar annual budgets.
• *Required Qualifications:**
• **Experience:**

* 8-10 years in program or information technology management. * 7+ years in network engineering or operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role.

• **Skills & Knowledge:**

* Strong knowledge of public administration principles, including governmental procurement, contracting, personnel, and project management. * Ability to analyze complex issues and formulate effective recommendations. * Proficiency in enterprise networking technologies (e.g., routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, load balancing). * Experience with network monitoring and management tools. * Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi-million-dollar budgets. * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• *Desired Qualifications:**
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• *Working Environment & Clearance:**
• **Availability:** Requires working extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for maintenance, upgrades, and essential service support. Must be available during government shutdowns and inclement weather as an "excepted" position.
• **On-Call:** Requires availability on-call or on-site within a 24-hour rotation.
• **Security Clearance:** Must obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
