## International Trade Analyst (GS-11/12/13)

Join our team as an International Trade Analyst to critically examine global commerce and contribute to informed decision-making. This role involves conducting in-depth studies, analyzing complex data, and presenting actionable insights across various international trade sectors.

  • *Key Responsibilities (Varying by GS level):**
  • Conduct or produce comprehensive studies integrating trade, economic, financial, and marketing data.
  • Apply advanced fact-finding and investigative techniques to gather trade data from diverse sources.
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to interpret data and present findings.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise briefings to management on study findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively as a member of research teams on complex projects.
  • *At the GS-13 level, responsibilities include:* Exhibiting expertise in antidumping/countervailing duty, analyzing import injury data, conducting firm-specific surveys, and providing specialized briefings on these topics.
  • *Qualifications:**
Candidates must meet the Basic Requirement below, **PLUS** the specialized experience/education for the desired GS level.

  • *1. Basic Requirement (Meet ONE of the following):**
  • **Education:** Undergraduate or graduate major study in business administration, economics, business or international law, finance, industrial management, international trade/relations, or a directly related field.
  • **Experience:** Demonstrated knowledge of:
* The production of goods and services in international trade. * Technical and economic factors influencing international trade and competitiveness. * Commodity and trade data collection methods and analytical techniques. * U.S. trade laws, agreements, and policies regulating international commerce.

    Specialized Experience & Education (IN ADDITION to Basic Requirement):**

  • *For GS-11:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (at GS-9 level or equivalent in federal/private sector) demonstrating:
* Conducting studies with trade, economic, financial, and marketing data. * Applying fact-finding to gather trade data from various sources. * Using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to present data and findings. * Preparing/delivering briefings and collaborating on research projects.
  • **or Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M. (if related) in a degree program related to the job (e.g., business administration, economics, international law, finance, industrial management, international trade/relations).
  • **or Combination:** A combination of qualifying experience and graduate education that, when calculated, totals at least 100%.
  • *For GS-12:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (at GS-11 level or equivalent in federal/private sector) demonstrating:
* Producing studies with trade, economic, financial, and marketing data. * Generating and applying fact-finding techniques for data gathering. * Using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to present findings. * Delivering briefings and collaborating on research projects.

  • *For GS-13:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (at GS-12 level or equivalent in federal/private sector) demonstrating:
* Producing studies with antidumping/countervailing duty knowledge and relevant trade/industry data analysis. * Generating and applying fact-finding techniques to gather import injury data, firm-specific surveys, and/or antidumping/countervailing duty-related information. * Using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques for import injury or antidumping/countervailing duty analysis. * Delivering briefings on import injury or antidumping/countervailing duty findings and recommendations; collaborating on multidisciplinary teams.

  • Relevant education must be from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Volunteer experience (paid or unpaid) that builds critical competencies and skills will be credited towards qualifications.
  • A writing assessment may be requested.
