  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Analyze international trade data, market conditions, and economic factors impacting global commerce.
  • Interpret and apply U.S. trade laws, agreements, and policies.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports and presentations on complex trade issues.
  • Identify and process economic and trade information; manipulate data for analysis.
  • Plan, design, and lead or contribute to projects and studies.
  • Develop expertise in specific industry sectors (e.g., chemicals, textile/apparel) regarding trade dynamics.
  • *Qualifications (Experience & Education):**
Applicants must clearly demonstrate all requirements in their application materials.

  • *GS-09 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-7) demonstrating knowledge of international trade production, economic factors, data collection/analysis, or U.S. trade laws.
  • **Education:** Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (LL.B., J.D. if related) in chemistry, chemical engineering, economics, business, international law, international trade correlations, or related fields. (Transcripts required).
  • *GS-11 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-9) including one or more of the following:
* Knowledge of trade laws, market conditions, and competitiveness factors in the chemicals industry. * Identifying, obtaining, processing, and manipulating economic and trade data. * Preparing complex written materials and submitting them for review. * Planning, designing, carrying out, and leading team projects or studies.
  • **Education:** Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in chemistry, international trade, international relations, economics, business, finance, or a related trade field.
  • *GS-12 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-11) demonstrating *two or more* areas listed for the GS-11 experience criteria (including chemicals industry focus).
  • *GS-13 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-12) demonstrating *three or more* areas listed for the GS-11 experience criteria (including chemicals industry focus).
  • *GS-14 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-13) demonstrating *all four* areas listed for the GS-11 experience criteria, with a specific focus on the textile and apparel industries.
  • Note: Qualifying experience includes paid and unpaid work, such as volunteer service, which builds relevant competencies and skills.*
