Job Description

Summary

Economist sought to conduct advanced research, apply statistical modeling, and develop policy insights.

We are seeking highly skilled Economic Researchers at various experience levels (GS-12, GS-13, GS-14) to conduct advanced economic analysis and contribute to policy development. This role requires a strong foundation in economic theory and quantitative methods.

  • *Key Responsibilities (Specifics vary by grade level):**
  • Conduct independent research on significant economic questions using advanced statistical and econometric techniques.
  • Publish independent research findings in peer-reviewed journals, doctoral dissertations, or equivalent professional publications.
  • **(For GS-13 & GS-14)** Plan and implement macroeconomic and/or economic policy-driven modeling initiatives.
  • **(For GS-13)** Participate in intra-office or interagency work groups focused on macroeconomic and economic policy issues.
  • **(For GS-14)** Lead intra-office or interagency work groups focused on macroeconomic and economic policy issues.
  • **(For GS-14)** Develop and advance applied economic and policy ideas through rigorous economic research.
  • *Required Experience:**
Candidates must possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level for at least one year. This experience can be gained in public, private, or volunteer sectors. Part-time work is prorated to determine full-time equivalency.
