## International Economist / Trade Analyst (Multiple Levels)

We are seeking highly qualified International Economists or Trade Analysts to contribute to critical economic analysis and policy development related to international trade. We are hiring for multiple General Schedule (GS) levels (GS-9, GS-11, GS-12, GS-13) based on your experience and qualifications.

### Responsibilities & Key Skills (Vary by GS Level):

• Analyzing the production of goods and services in international trade.
• Investigating technical and economic factors influencing global trade and competitiveness.
• Collecting, processing, and expertly analyzing commodity and trade data.
• Applying in-depth knowledge of U.S. trade laws, agreements, and policies regulating international commerce.
• Researching and reporting on market conditions, trade regulations, and competitiveness, particularly within advanced technology and machinery sectors.
• Identifying and obtaining complex economic and trade information, with proficiency in data manipulation.
• Preparing comprehensive, professional written materials on complex economic topics for internal and external review.
• Planning, designing, executing, and potentially leading projects or studies, often collaboratively within a team.

### Basic Qualifications:

• **Education:** A degree in Economics that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. **or** a combination of education equivalent to a major in economics plus appropriate experience or additional education.

### Experience Requirements by GS Level:

• **GS-9:** One year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-7 level **or** two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Master's degree. Experience should demonstrate ability in areas such as international trade analysis, data collection, or trade laws.
• **GS-11:** One year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-9 level **or** three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Experience must include demonstrated proficiency in one or more advanced responsibilities listed above.
• **GS-12:** One year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-11 level. Experience must include demonstrated proficiency in two or more advanced responsibilities listed above.
• **GS-13:** One year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-12 level. Experience must include demonstrated proficiency in three or more advanced responsibilities listed above.
