### Military Family Counselor

Join our team dedicated to supporting the military community by providing essential counseling and support services. This role requires a deep understanding of military life's unique challenges and the ability to apply a range of therapeutic interventions.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • Provide counseling and support services using diverse therapeutic approaches (e.g., client-centered, family systems, solution-focused).
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, identifying mental disorders (DSM-IV), and evaluating risks such as suicidal/homicidal ideation and substance abuse.
  • Develop, adapt, and deliver programs tailored to the evolving needs of active-duty military personnel and their families.
  • Address family violence, including conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and implementing treatment for both victims and offenders.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, presenting sensitive information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborate effectively with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, medical facilities, and military commands.
  • Participate actively in interdisciplinary case review committees and contribute to case discussions.
  • Prepare precise written documentation, including psycho-social assessments, treatment plans, case memos, and reports.
  • Develop and deliver impactful presentations and briefings.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • In-depth knowledge of the military lifestyle and its specific demands on individuals and families.
  • Proficiency in applying various counseling methodologies and diagnostic skills for mental disorders.
  • Expertise in family violence dynamics, identification, and treatment principles.
  • Strong ability to recognize, define, and independently solve personal and social problems.
  • Exceptional oral communication skills for interviews, presentations, and group facilitation.
  • Superior written communication skills for comprehensive documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with group dynamics, family systems, substance abuse, and human behavior.
  • Competence in using computers and various software for presentations and work assignments.
