Summary
Engineer/Scientist to develop, apply, and advise on advanced laser-based sensor technologies for critical applications.
We are seeking an experienced Engineer/Scientist to drive the development and application of advanced laser-based sensor technologies.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Apply a deep understanding of laser-based sensor technologies, including ocean remote sensing, object detection in degraded visual environments, and quantum sensing.
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art laser-based sensors and components for advanced Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) and other laser-driven systems.
- Initiate, plan, and secure funding for new technology developments to overcome operational challenges.
- Utilize a broad range of sensor and avionics disciplines for simulation, modeling, and evaluation of in-house and industry equipment.
- Provide expert advice to leadership and major programs on analysis, simulation, and avionics hardware development to advance laser-based sensor systems.
- *Required Experience:**
- Minimum one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the Federal DP-05 grade level, or comparable experience in the private or public sector.
