Job Description

Summary

Lead data analysis and research to develop strategic, data-driven solutions for complex problems.

This position requires expertise in data analysis, research, and problem-solving within a federal context. You will contribute to evidence-based decision-making by analyzing complex data and recommending strategic solutions.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Analyze data using statistical software to identify trends and insights.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing research, data, and metrics.
  • Conduct in-depth research to solve complex problems based on data analysis.
  • Formulate and recommend data-driven solutions and strategies.
  • *Required Qualifications:**

To qualify, you must meet ONE of the following basic education/experience paths and the specialized experience:

  • **Statistician:** Bachelor's degree with 15 semester hours in statistics (or math/stats with 6+ stats hours) and 9 additional semester hours in physical/biological sciences, medicine, education, engineering, or social sciences. or A combination of education as above, plus professional statistical experience including sampling, data collection/analysis, and applying statistical techniques (e.g., correlation, ANOVA).
  • **Sociologist:** Bachelor's degree in Sociology; or Social Psychology/Political Science with at least 24 semester hours in sociology. or A combination of education equivalent to a sociology major (24+ semester hours) plus relevant experience.
  • **Psychologist:** Bachelor's degree with a major or equivalent in Psychology.
  • *Specialized Experience (GS-14 Level):**
One year of experience analyzing data with statistical software, evaluating research/data/metrics effectiveness, researching complex problems based on data analysis, and recommending solutions derived from data or research. Education cannot substitute for this specialized experience.

  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • **Time in Grade:** If currently a federal employee, must have 52 weeks at the GS-13 level.
  • **Federal Eligibility:** Applicants must meet specific U.S. Federal employment authority categories (e.g., current DoD/DoDEA civilian, military spouse, veteran, etc.). Proof of eligibility is required.
