Job Description
Summary
Seeking an Engineer or Computer Scientist to develop net-centric solutions for DoD using SDN/WDM, applying project management principles.
We are seeking qualified Computer or Electronics Engineers (GG-854/GG-855) or Computer Scientists (GG-1550) to develop and provide technical guidance for net-centric solutions supporting the Department of Defense's global mission.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Apply technical concepts and project management principles.
- Utilize technologies such as Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) to create net-centric solutions.
- Provide technical guidance for DoD's global operations.
- *Basic Requirements for Computer/Electronics Engineer (GG-854/GG-855):**
- **Degree:** Bachelor's in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. or
- **Degree Alternative:** Bachelor's including differential and integral calculus, plus advanced coursework in five of seven specified engineering science or physics areas (e.g., statics, thermodynamics, electrical fields, materials).
- **Combination of Education & Experience:** College-level education and technical experience demonstrating thorough knowledge of physical/mathematical sciences and practical understanding of engineering sciences/techniques. Adequacy must be proven by one of the following:
- *Basic Requirements for Computer Scientist (GG-1550):**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. or
- Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science, including at least 15 semester hours in statistics and mathematics (with differential and integral calculus).
- All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited institutions.*
- *Qualifying Experience (GG-14 Level):**
- At least one year of professional experience demonstrating the ability to develop net-centric solutions and provide technical guidance to support the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Experience must include using technical concepts, project management principles, and emerging technologies (e.g., SDN, WDM).
