Job Description
Summary
Senior SIGINT Subject Matter Expert for SOF intelligence, leading technical solutions and advising on strategic operations.
This is a senior-level (GG-14 equivalent) position for a Subject Matter Expert in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF) within the U.S. Intelligence Community.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Serve as the authoritative expert for the SOF SIGINT enterprise, guiding operational employment of SIGINT and INFOSEC systems.
- Lead and participate in SOF, Joint, and interagency teams to develop technical solutions for community-wide intelligence requirements.
- Represent SOCOM Headquarters, the J2 Directorate, and the Director of the SOCOM Cryptologic Office as a recognized authority.
- Conduct unbiased, complex intelligence research and produce detailed intelligence requirement assessments.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to diverse audiences including executive leadership.
- Rapidly assimilate disparate data, accurately assess implications, and make informed decisions/recommendations under urgent conditions.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Expert-level Knowledge:** Comprehensive understanding of the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) missions, capabilities, systems, and national intelligence strategy.
- **Deep SIGINT Understanding:** In-depth, current knowledge of the SOF global Signals Intelligence mission, deployment, and operational posture.
- **Technical Acumen:** Highly technical knowledge of new/emerging collection systems, processing techniques, and reporting formats.
- **Strategic Planning:** Detailed knowledge of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) system.
- **Organizational Familiarity:** Thorough familiarity with SOCOM Headquarters, components, and units organizations.
- **Intelligence Acuity:** Knowledge of the intelligence cycle, policy, acquisition intelligence, and advanced analytical methods for multi-source intelligence.
- **Problem Solving:** Skill in conducting complex research to identify deficiencies and advocate for customer requirements.
- **Communication Mastery:** Exceptional oral and written communication skills to collaborate with peers, management, subordinates, contractors, and other agencies, preparing professional documents and delivering executive-level briefs.
- **Decisive Judgment:** Ability to quickly assess data, render accurate judgments, and make sound decisions or recommendations based on mature judgment and experience.
- *Conditions of Employment:**
- Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) is required.
- Requires signing a non-disclosure agreement.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program; requires passing initial and periodic short-notice drug testing.
- Designated as a Key position (Category 4), critical during national emergencies.
- Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, another government agency, or volunteer work, provided duties and responsibilities are clearly identified.*
