Lead strategic communications, congressional liaison, and planning for federal House relocation projects, requiring GS-15 specialized experience.

Seeking a highly experienced professional for a GS-15 role focused on strategic communications, congressional liaison, and project planning for critical federal initiatives.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **Congressional Communication:** Effectively convey project impacts to the House Congressional community, securing support for "House Moves" projects.
  • **Activity Management:** Conduct and manage various Congressional activities.
  • **Strategic Planning:** Develop and implement long-range and short-range plans for Member Move Suite Selection rules (Departing, Returning, and New Members).
  • **Enterprise Synchronization:** Apply expertise in enterprise synchronization and strategic communications for large-scale operations.
  • **Persuasive Communication:** Clearly articulate ideas, analyses, and recommendations in both oral and written formats to management and diverse professional audiences.
  • *Requirements:**
  • Candidates must possess specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in Federal service, meeting OPM qualification requirements for a GS-15 position.

Both the agency and the head of the agency are called "Architect of the Capitol". The head of the agency is appointed by a vote of a congressional commission for a ten-year term. Prior to 2024, the president of the United States appointed the architect upon confirmation vote by the United States Senate, and was accountable to the president.
