Summary
Health and Fitness Coach develops programs, conducts screenings, and provides wellness coaching across all experience levels.
This role involves guiding individuals through personalized wellness journeys as a Health and Fitness Coach. You will develop and lead exercise programs, conduct health screenings, and promote restorative self-care. Responsibilities and required experience vary by GS level.
- *Core Responsibilities (Depending on GS Level):**
- Develop and implement individualized and group exercise programs, including cardiovascular, strength, balance, and flexibility training.
- Conduct comprehensive health and physical fitness screenings and assessments.
- Provide personalized coaching and strategies for health, fitness, and restorative self-care.
- Lead various exercise classes and sessions (e.g., yoga, Pilates, studio cycling, group strength).
- *General Requirements:**
- Must meet U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualification standards.
- Possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS grade in Federal Service (minimum 52 weeks).
- *Specific Grade Level Experience:**
- **GS-9:** Requires 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Focus on developing basic health/fitness activities, conducting basic individual exercise programs, and performing basic health screenings (e.g., for hypertension, diabetes).
- **GS-10:** Requires 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. Focus on planning intermediate individual/group exercise programs for endurance, strength, and balance, and conducting intermediate health screenings.
- **GS-11:** Requires 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. Focus on developing personalized health/fitness strategies, conducting comprehensive assessments, and leading advanced exercises in individual and group settings.
