Summary

Lead federal S&T programs, overseeing advanced research in naval engineering and physical sciences while driving efficiency and results.

Seeking an accomplished and dedicated leader for a Senior Executive Service (SES) position within the Federal government. This role demands a passion for public service, a commitment to efficiency, and proven expertise in managing complex science and technology programs critical to national security.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **Program Leadership:** Direct and manage advanced research, technology, and developmental programs in areas such as ship structures and design (including naval engineering, materials, hydrodynamics, power systems, platform signatures), undersea weapons, and foundational sciences (physics, chemistry, materials).
  • **Strategic Management:** Oversee and coordinate large, integrated science and technology projects from conception to completion.
  • **Organizational Impact:** Drive efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and strategically manage budgets to achieve significant organizational results.
  • **Team Development:** Lead, inspire, and hold accountable high-performing teams to meet organizational vision, mission, and goals.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • **Technical Expertise:**
* Progressive, substantial experience (preferably with a doctoral degree) in managing and performing R&D in relevant fields (e.g., ship structures, naval engineering, hydrodynamics, power systems, undersea weapons, basic/applied physics, chemistry, materials science). Evidence includes publications, presentations, leadership roles, and programmatic growth. * Recent, direct experience managing and coordinating large, integrated science and technology projects.
  • **Executive Leadership (Demonstrated on Resume):**
* **Commitment to Public Service:** Deep understanding of the American government, unwavering commitment to the U.S. Constitution, rule of law, and serving the public. * **Driving Efficiency:** Proven ability to strategically manage resources, budget effectively, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency through process and technological improvements. * **Merit and Competence:** Exceptional technical knowledge, ability, and competence to consistently deliver high-quality work. * **Leading People:** Demonstrated capacity to lead, inspire, and develop teams, fostering a high-performance, high-accountability culture. * **Achieving Results:** Track record of achieving significant individual and organizational outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
