Summary
Lead graphic design for American University's fundraising communications, creating compelling print and digital assets with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Join American University as a Graphic Designer to support fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives. This hybrid role (3-4 days/week on campus) requires a creative professional to develop compelling print and digital communications that enhance donor relations and university branding.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and produce a wide range of creative assets for fundraising and alumni engagement, including donor impact reports, gift proposals, event collateral, web content, and social media visuals.
- Ensure all visual communications adhere to institutional brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
- Collaborate on multimedia projects, contributing to the design and production of videos, animations, and presentations.
- Manage projects from conceptual development and planning through final art production across various channels.
- Oversee digital asset management, develop design templates for internal use, and coordinate photoshoots.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in design, photography, and marketing.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication/Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of professional graphic design experience (3-5 years preferred), demonstrating a strong portfolio.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, Premiere Pro, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office on MacOS.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with brand guideline implementation, print production, and design for web.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
- High level of professionalism, tact, and discretion with confidential information.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Engaging Networks).
- Working knowledge of HTML, information architecture, and user experience (UX).
- Experience with motion graphics and video creation/editing.
- *Compensation & Work Environment:**
- **Salary:** $60,000 - $65,000 annually.
- **Work Arrangement:** Full-time, hybrid (3-4 days/week on campus in Washington, DC).
