Summary
Manages government records and information lifecycle, ensuring compliance, policy alignment, and robust internal controls.
We are seeking a Government Information Specialist (GS-12) to manage and ensure compliance across the lifecycle of government records and information.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide expert guidance on physical and electronic records lifecycle, adhering to Federal Records Act and DoD policies (e.g., FRC holdings, record freezes, destruction notices).
- Support and oversee the Records and Information Management (RIM) policy review program, ensuring agency documents align with RIM standards.
- Assist with policy interpretation, implementation, and conduct agency forms reviews, ensuring proper disposition instructions.
- Collaborate on designing and implementing government information internal controls.
- Conduct compliance audits and reviews, providing training and recommendations to enhance control environments and minimize risks.
- Identify and implement corrective actions for control deficiencies, promoting accountability and ethical behavior.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in records and information management.
- Demonstrated experience in records lifecycle management, Federal Records Act compliance, and DoD policies.
- Proficiency in RIM policy review, forms management, and internal control implementation.
- Experience conducting compliance audits and providing recommendations/training.
- *Note: Both paid and volunteer experience will be considered.*
