Summary
Manage government information governance and FOIA programs, including policy development, request processing, and negotiations.
We are seeking a **Government Information Specialist** to manage agency-wide information governance and FOIA programs. This role involves significant policy development, request management, and stakeholder engagement.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop, implement, and manage agency-wide information governance policies, particularly related to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
- Formulate and draft FOIA program procedures and guidelines, ensuring timely updates and implementation.
- Direct searches for relevant records in response to FOIA requests.
- Negotiate with FOIA requestors and their legal representatives.
- Design and utilize databases and systems to collect and maintain FOIA action statistics.
- *Qualifications:**
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service, or comparable experience in the private sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in information governance policy development, implementation, and management (e.g., FOIA).
- Proven ability to formulate procedures, direct record searches, and conduct negotiations with requestors.
- Experience in designing and managing databases for tracking information and statistics.
- Meet all federal eligibility requirements, including time-in-grade where applicable.
- Relevant paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, is considered.
