Summary

Seeking a multidisciplinary Professional Engineer to apply advanced theories, oversee projects, and develop technical solutions.

## Professional Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Engineer to apply advanced engineering theories, manage projects, and develop innovative technical solutions across diverse engineering disciplines.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development and execution.
  • Provide expert technical advice and direction for weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment.
  • Perform systematic analyses and oversee multidisciplinary engineering projects to achieve technical and business objectives.
  • Devise and evaluate design criteria, assess the impact of new technologies on existing systems, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Utilize emerging technologies and business practices to create effective engineering solutions.
  • Support programs related to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management.
### Core Requirements:

  • *1. Basic Engineering Qualification (One of the following is required):**
  • **A. Engineering Degree:** A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; or a program including differential/integral calculus and advanced courses (beyond first-year physics/chemistry) in at least five of seven specified engineering science/physics areas (e.g., statics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electrical fields).
  • **B. Combination of Education and Experience (Demonstrated by one of the following):**
* **Professional Registration:** Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or territory. * **Written Test:** Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or another written test required for professional engineering registration. * **Specified Academic Courses:** At least 60 semester hours of courses in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including the advanced courses specified in the degree requirement above, fully acceptable towards an engineering program. * **Related Curriculum + Experience:** A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, computer science) plus at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision. * *Note: Official transcripts are required for all education-based qualifications.*

    Specialized Experience:**

  • At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
  • This experience must encompass a range of multidisciplinary engineering tasks (e.g., electronics, mechanical, aerospace), involving the utilization of emerging technologies, performing systematic analyses, and overseeing projects to meet business and technical objectives.
  • *Note: This experience may be completed within 120 days of the announcement closing date.*
  • *3. Key Skills & Abilities:**
  • Extensive knowledge of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in applying advanced engineering theories to project development, execution, and advisory services, particularly for weapon systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering practices and procedures related to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management.
  • Understanding of planning, program management principles, and standard acquisition regulations.
  • Ability to devise/evaluate design criteria, assess new technology impacts, analyze complex information, and formulate solutions.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills for technical accuracy and effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

  • Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid, part-time, and volunteer work experience. Clearly identify duties, responsibilities, and total hours per week.
