Job Description

Apply advanced engineering expertise to analyze technology policies and collaborate on critical projects, requiring a relevant engineering background.
Seeking an experienced Engineer to apply advanced expertise in analyzing technical policies and collaborating on complex projects involving critical technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** * Analyze policies for commodities and technologies including Semiconductors (e.g., manufacturing, material characterization, electrical testing, process modeling, yield analysis), Laser systems (e.g., optics, propagation physics, beam diagnostics, thermal effects), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) systems, computer science, and electronics systems. * Collaborate effectively with engineering and program management personnel on a wide range of engineering projects. **Qualifications:** * **Education:** * Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, OR a degree including differential/integral calculus and advanced engineering science/physics courses. * OR a combination of education and experience demonstrating thorough engineering knowledge, evidenced by one of the following: * Professional Engineer (PE), Engineer Intern (EI), or Engineer in Training (EIT) registration/licensure. * Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination. * At least 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences. * A bachelor's degree in a related scientific field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Physics, Computer Science) combined with at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision. * **Experience:** * Minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level (Federal service or equivalent). * This experience must include applying engineering expertise to analyze policies related to technologies like semiconductors, laser systems, AI/ML, computer science, or electronics, and collaborating on diverse engineering projects.
