## Senior Engineer (NH-IV/GS-14/15 Equivalent)

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic engineer to lead the modernization of engineering processes for defense systems. This role involves directing the integration of cutting-edge technologies and ensuring measurable improvements in system performance and efficiency.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic recommendations to modernize engineering processes for defense systems.
  • Direct the integration of emerging technologies into assigned systems.
  • Conduct rigorous analyses of new practices and demonstrate measurable improvements in engineering performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Resolve complex, multi-disciplinary technical problems.
  • Lead large, diverse engineering study teams to deliver impactful system-wide solutions.
### Qualifications:

  • *Education (One of the following):**
  • **Bachelor's Degree in Engineering:** From a school with at least one ABET-accredited program.
  • **Related Scientific Degree with Experience:** Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Physics, Computer Science) combined with at least one year of professional engineering experience under professional supervision.
  • **Combination of Education and Experience:** Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of physical/mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a strong understanding of engineering sciences and techniques, as evidenced by:
* **Professional Registration:** Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE). * **Written Test:** Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or another required professional registration test. * **Specified Academic Courses:** Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including differential/integral calculus and advanced courses in five of seven key engineering areas (e.g., statics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical fields, material properties).

  • *Specialized Experience (NH-IV/GS-14/15 Equivalent):**
  • At least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to NH-III/GS-13 in the Federal service, or comparable if outside Federal service) leading the development and implementation of strategic recommendations to modernize engineering processes for defense systems.
  • Experience must include directing the integration of emerging technologies, conducting analyses of new practices, and demonstrating measurable improvements in engineering performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Proven track record of resolving complex, multi-disciplinary technical problems and leading large, diverse engineering study teams to achieve impactful system-wide solutions.
  • *Federal Applicants (Time-in-Grade):**
  • For entry at the NH-IV level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as an NH-III (GS-13 equivalent) or higher grade in the Federal Service or equivalent.
