Seeking an experienced General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership and ensure compliance for a large federal agency.
This senior-level legal position seeks a General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership and oversight for a large federal agency. **Key Responsibilities:** * Provide high-level legal advice and guidance across various agency operations. * Ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations. * Strategically manage resources, budgets, and drive operational efficiencies. * Lead and inspire a high-performing legal team. * Collaborate effectively with internal and external high-level officials. **Required Qualifications:** * Juris Doctor (JD) degree. * 5-10 years of post-JD high-level legal experience, preferably within a large organization. * Demonstrated leadership ability and a strong commitment to the Rule of Law. * Extensive knowledge of law and regulations applicable to federal agencies, including: * Access to Information (FOIA, Privacy Acts) * Administration, Appropriations, Audit, Budget, Fiscal * Facilities, Intellectual Property, Information Technology * Legislation, Personnel, Procurement, Records, Regulatory, Security * Proven ability to work collaboratively across dispersed organizations (e.g., DOJ components). * Exceptional ability to produce high-quality, reliable legal work. * Demonstrated capacity to achieve individual and organizational results. **Application Process:** * **Resume-Only:** Submit a resume not exceeding 2 pages (single or double-sided). * **Content Focus:** Your resume must explicitly demonstrate and embed concrete examples of your leadership ability, responsibilities, program scope/complexity, accomplishments, and results. * **Qualifications:** Clearly address all Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs) within your resume. * **SES CDP:** Applicants who have completed the SES Candidate Development Program (CDP) and have OPM-certified ECQs must provide their certificate; however, MTQs must still be satisfied.
