## General Attorney (Tax) - Senior Technician Reviewer (Energy Branch)
We are seeking a highly experienced Tax Attorney to join our Energy Branch as a Senior Technician Reviewer. This role involves providing expert legal guidance and analysis on complex tax matters related to the energy industry.
### Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas:
- Analyze and interpret Internal Revenue tax laws, regulations, and decisions concerning energy production.
- Provide legal guidance on energy-related production and investment tax credits.
- Address other tax issues ancillary to energy production, such as normalization.
- Work with the research credit under Section 41.
- Engage with the energy industry, potentially including federal government agencies.
- Handle or advise on tax litigation matters.
- *Education:**
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
- *Bar Membership:**
- Active member in good standing of the bar of a U.S. State, Commonwealth, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
- *Experience:**
- Minimum of 1 year of general professional legal experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional legal experience specifically in tax law, focusing on areas such as:
- At least one year of the required experience must be at a senior professional level (equivalent to federal GS-14).
- *Note:* All professional legal experience must be gained after bar admission.
- *Substitution:**
- An LL.M. degree in Tax or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the general professional legal experience requirement.
- Include all relevant paid and unpaid (volunteer) legal experience.
- Clearly indicate employment dates (month/year) and hours worked per week on your resume.
