## General Attorney (Tax) Senior Technician Reviewer (GS-15)

We are seeking an experienced General Attorney to provide expert legal counsel and perform senior-level technical reviews on complex federal tax issues. This role involves in-depth research, analysis, and drafting on a wide range of tax matters.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal analysis and advice on complex federal tax law.
  • Conduct extensive research and legal analysis for intricate tax questions.
  • Draft significant tax legal documents, including private letter rulings, technical advice, and Chief Counsel advice.
  • Address tax issues concerning financial institutions, products, and transactions (e.g., virtual currency, debt instruments, derivatives).
  • Analyze tax accounting methods, property disposition (gain/loss), and tax-advantaged bonds.
  • May involve litigation experience related to tax-law cases.
### Qualifications:
  • **Education:** Possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  • **Bar Admission:** Must be an active member in good standing of the bar of a U.S. State, Commonwealth, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • **Experience (GS-15 Level):**
* Minimum of one (1) year of general professional legal experience (any area). * Minimum of three (3) years of specialized professional legal tax experience. * At least one year of this experience must be equivalent to the federal GS-14 level. * **Specialized Legal Tax Experience includes:** Tax issues related to financial institutions/products, accounting methods, property disposition, tax-advantaged bonds, complex legal tax research/analysis, significant tax legal writing, or tax-law litigation. * *Note:* Only experience gained after Bar admission will be credited as professional legal experience. * An LL.M. degree in a relevant field (Tax, GLS, P&A-FOIA/Disclosure) may substitute for one year of general legal experience.
  • **Required Documentation:** Your resume must clearly detail relevant experience, including employment dates (month/year) and hours worked per week. Transcripts will be required if qualifying based on education.
