Summary
WMATA seeks a Full Stack Web Developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-level web and mobile applications for digital modernization.
WMATA is seeking a skilled Full Stack Web Developer to join our Office of Digital Modernization in Washington, DC. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and optimizing innovative web and mobile applications that support critical programs and shape the future of digital services.
- *About the Role:**
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, develop, and support complex, n-tier web applications (customer-facing and internal) from concept to deployment.
- Ensure adherence to software development lifecycle (SDLC) standards and process efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Cybersecurity, Project Management, Enterprise Architecture, business representatives).
- Develop upgrade plans, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance/support issues.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert on web application security, performance, and maintainability.
- Stay current with emerging web, Internet, and Intranet technologies, providing technical guidance to other developers.
- Develop and implement application policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform strategic systems planning, business analysis, and process/data modeling.
- Execute all phases of the web software development lifecycle: design, programming, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Leverage back-end frameworks (e.g., Express, Fastify) for API development (REST, GraphQL).
- Utilize technologies like .NET, .NET Core, and Python, applying containerization and CI/CD best practices.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline; or a High School Diploma/GED with an additional four (4) years of overall Software Development experience.
- **Experience:** Eight (8) years of overall Software Development experience, including at least three (3) years of Full Stack Developer experience.
- **Certification:** Microsoft Certified Professional.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft development stack, including PowerApps.
- Experience with transit data and understanding of GTFS, OTP, and GIS standards.
- Operational or development experience with ServiceNow for ITSM activities.
- Solid grasp of system architecture and design principles.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
