Foreign Relations and Defense Policy Manager

This position seeks a highly accomplished leader committed to enhancing Federal government efficiency and upholding American foundational principles. The role requires an extensive background in national security and foreign affairs. **Key Responsibilities:** * Enable and support senior officials in internal decision-making, interagency/international deliberations, and Congressional testimony. * Represent the U.S. Government, leading negotiations with diverse counterparts. * Lead and manage teams throughout the policy creation, implementation, and evaluation stages. * Focus areas include defense policy, planning, force posture, resourcing, foreign affairs, and national security. **Required Qualifications:** Applicants must demonstrate experience addressing the following through specific examples in their resume (maximum 2 pages). **Technical Qualifications (TQs):** * **Senior Official Support & Representation:** Proven ability to enable senior officials' activities and successes, including leading negotiations and representing the U.S. Government. * **Policy Leadership:** Demonstrated experience leading teams through all stages of policy creation, implementation, and evaluation in defense, national security, or foreign affairs. **Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs):** * **ECQ 1: Commitment to Rule of Law & American Founding:** Deep understanding of the U.S. government, dedication to the Constitution, and commitment to public service. * **ECQ 2: Driving Efficiency:** Strategic resource management, fiscal responsibility, and leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency. * **ECQ 3: Merit & Competence:** Demonstrated technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, agility, and resilience under pressure. * **ECQ 4: Leading People:** Ability to inspire, develop, and hold teams accountable for high performance; strong executive judgment. * **ECQ 5: Achieving Results:** Proven ability to achieve individual and organizational goals through strategic thinking, innovation, and operational excellence. **Application Instructions:** * Your resume must clearly detail experience aligning with all TQs and ECQs. * Resume must not exceed 2 pages; longer resumes will be disqualified. * Do NOT submit separate narrative statements for ECQs or TQs. * If currently in SES or SESCDP certified, provide proof of eligibility.
