Summary
Lead React/NextJS development and technical strategy for Marriott's global hotel websites, driving innovation and enhancing digital user experiences.
Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid) or Remote Schedule: Full Time Position Type: Management (Temporary)
Marriott International is seeking a Technical Lead for the Hotel Website (HWS) team, a temporary management position focused on advancing global digital experiences. This role involves comprehensive technical leadership, aligning with the company's goal of enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and enhancement of high-quality, scalable React/NextJS components.
- Integrate React/NextJS components with AEM, APIs, and various downstream data sources.
- Design, implement, and maintain multi-locale/multi-lingual websites for consistent user experiences.
- Optimize website performance using Couchbase, CDN caching, and other mechanisms.
- Oversee release management and code deployment strategies, including branching.
- Develop multi-themed brand websites and lead headless/omni-channel component development.
- Utilize GraphQL for data querying and integration.
- Apply automation scripting and AI-driven code generation for scalable development.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX, Platform, Shared Services, and Operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of professional experience in React/NextJS development.
- Strong fundamentals in data modeling and database normalization.
- Proficiency in Java and supporting frameworks like Spring Boot (preferred).
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and NGINX web servers.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Proven ability to work in an Agile development environment.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GraphQL, Server-Side Rendering (SSR), and Next.js.
- Familiarity with Micro-UI architecture patterns and testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles, responsive design, and mobile-first development.
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile.
