## Fire Protection Engineer (Multiple Levels: Entry to Senior)

Join our team to apply expert fire protection engineering principles, ensuring safety and compliance across a range of facilities. This role involves comprehensive design review, risk assessment, code application, and complex problem-solving.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fire safety surveys and develop risk assessments for diverse buildings.
  • Apply a broad range of federal, state, and local fire and building codes and standards.
  • Perform and evaluate performance-based engineering analyses to address complex fire protection issues.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications for fire protection and life safety compliance.
  • Prepare detailed fire protection engineering reports.
  • **Senior Levels:** Independently solve complex fire protection challenges and serve as a consultant to management and engineering teams.
### Qualifications:

  • *Education:**
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. or
  • Bachelor's degree including differential and integral calculus and advanced coursework in five of seven engineering science/physics areas (e.g., statics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical fields, materials science). or
  • A combination of college-level education, training, and experience demonstrating thorough knowledge of physical/mathematical sciences underlying engineering and a practical understanding of engineering sciences and their applications.
  • *Experience (Relevant Professional Experience Required):**
  • **Entry-Level:** One year of specialized experience applying fire protection engineering principles in design review, construction oversight, risk assessment, performance analysis, and report preparation.
* *Substitution:* Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to this position may substitute for experience.
  • **Mid-Level:** One year of specialized experience conducting fire safety surveys, applying codes, developing risk assessments, solving complex fire protection issues using performance-based analysis, and reviewing designs for compliance.
  • **Senior-Level:** One year of specialized experience demonstrating independent problem-solving for complex fire protection issues and serving as a consultant to management and engineering teams.
  • Note: All qualifying experience, including volunteer work that builds relevant competencies, knowledge, and skills, will be considered.*
