Join our team as a Financial Systems Specialist, playing a key role in the operation and enhancement of a federal financial management system.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Manage and support the operation of a federal financial management system, including recurring accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Lead system configuration, gather software requirements for enhancements, and conduct thorough application testing.
  • Provide technical support and training to diverse users, from senior staff to non-technical personnel.
  • Apply strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to troubleshoot issues and recommend strategic solutions.
  • Manage projects related to financial application enhancements and sustainment initiatives.
  • Document testing results and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with various stakeholders.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor’s degree with 6-8 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a federal financial management system environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting financial system configuration, software requirements for enhancements, or testing.
  • Proficiency in commercial software application management and sustainment best practices.
  • Demonstrated project management knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to data confidentiality and fostering positive working relationships.
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Experience with complex, large-scale integrated financial systems (e.g., Funds Control, GL, AP, AR, Purchasing).
  • Background in a federal agency, higher education, or state/local government financial application support.
  • Basic knowledge of the Legislative Branch with a willingness to learn about the Senate.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification.
  • *Work Environment:**
  • This is an office-based role requiring regular, predictable attendance and physical presence. Involves typical office equipment use and occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
