Lead federal budget formulation, analysis, and provide expert financial guidance, ensuring compliance with complex regulations.
Join our team as a highly skilled Budget Analyst responsible for leading critical financial planning and analysis initiatives within a complex federal environment.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform comprehensive budget formulation, including detailed analysis and estimates of funding needs for future fiscal years.
- Prepare and deliver formal budget presentations and requests to high-level oversight bodies, such as OMB and Congressional committees.
- Offer expert financial advice and technical support across integrated planning, programming, budgeting, execution, and closeout processes for financial resources.
- Evaluate and advise on the financial implications of Congressional, OMB, DOD, and USAF decisions, recommending strategic courses of action.
- Conduct financial and cost reviews to accurately determine resource requirements based on actual and forecast workload.
- Lead special studies for leadership, providing guidance, direction, or action on established financial policies and procedures.
- *Qualifications:**
- Minimum one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 equivalent level in budget formulation and financial analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal budget processes, regulations, precedents, and guidelines (OMB, Congressional, DOD, USAF).
- Proficiency with computerized budget systems.
- Demonstrated skill in analyzing potential effects of budgetary actions on national objectives and resolving complex financial problems.
- Strong ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Aptitude for developing and applying innovative budgeting methods for long-range funding forecasts.
- Proven ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare financial cost estimates, develop alternatives, and make recommendations to resolve funding problems.
