Join our team as a Facilities Management Specialist (GS-13), overseeing office space and facility operations. This role demands expertise in planning, management, and ensuring the smooth functioning of facilities. **Key Responsibilities:** * Plan and manage office space, including reviewing layouts, construction needs, and space allowance criteria. * Inspect facilities to evaluate usage patterns and identify maintenance requirements. * Ensure comprehensive facility security, safety management, and efficient operational activities. **Qualifications (GS-13 Level):** Candidates must meet ONE of the following: * **A. Specialized Experience:** One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 federal service level, demonstrating: * Planning and managing office space, reviewing project plans, and evaluating facility conditions. * Ensuring facility security, safety management, and operational oversight. * *Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:* * Managing comprehensive maintenance programs for diverse building types (e.g., office, residential, hospitals), including planning and developing preventive maintenance. * Conducting surveillance over construction and maintenance performed by contractors, involving plan review and supervising operations for compliance. * Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs, directing work, and managing project communications. * **B. Education OR Relevant Experience:** * An Undergraduate or Graduate Degree with a major study in Engineering, Industrial Arts, Property Management, or Business Administration. * OR Experience that provided a thorough knowledge of property management, maintenance practices, materials requirements, and building operation and repair procedures (e.g., budget preparation, maintaining property/financial records, or technical trades/crafts work). **Important Note:** Volunteer experience, including National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps), is considered qualifying experience. If using education to qualify, official transcripts must be provided.
