Summary
Manages and coordinates comprehensive facility operations, maintenance, and space utilization for a federal building.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facility Operations Specialist (GS-12 equivalent) to manage and coordinate comprehensive facility services. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective utilization and maintenance of building assets.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Plan, direct, monitor, and coordinate the assignment and utilization of facilities, utilities, installed equipment, parking, and interior design/furniture layout.
- Manage and prepare plans for routine maintenance, repairs, equipment replacements, space utilization, office layouts, remodeling, alterations, and environmental remediation.
- Conduct investigations and studies to assess the effectiveness of facility support efforts, developing recommendations and preparing reports/briefings to improve operational efficiency.
- *Qualifications:**
To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. This experience should include, but is not limited to:
- Managing maintenance programs for large complexes such as office buildings, hospitals, recreation facilities, or military installations, including planning activities and developing preventive maintenance programs.
- Conducting surveillance over construction and maintenance operations performed by contractors, which involves reviewing plans, informing contractors of requirements, and supervising work for adherence to project specifications.
- Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for diverse projects, directing work operations, and liaising with project funding organizations.
- *Individual Occupational Requirements (1640 Series):**
- **Education:** A major study in Engineering, Industrial Arts, Property Management, or Business Administration.
- **or Experience:** Specialized experience (for positions above GS-5) as described above.
- *Note:** All qualifying experience, including volunteer work through programs like Peace Corps or AmeriCorps, will be credited.
