Summary
An Engineer II at GEICO will design and develop high-performance, UI-centric platforms using C#, .NET, and Azure.
GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer II to drive insurance business transformation by building high-performance, low-latency platforms and applications. This UI-focused role primarily involves developing front-end applications while also contributing to back-end integration and broader system functionality.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems with a focus on front-end development and user experience.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle, participating in design sessions and code reviews.
- Utilize programming languages and frameworks such as C#, Dart, SQL, .NET, Flutter, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure tools.
- Share best practices, improve processes, and drive technical solutions from product definition.
- Provide system training to team members and adapt quickly to new technologies.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- 2+ years of professional software development experience, primarily in C# and .NET frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience in software architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scaling).
- 2+ years of experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).
- 2+ years of experience with open-source frameworks.
- Proficiency in C# or similar object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, C++).
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe).
- In-depth knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms.
- Understanding of HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON, and RESTful Web Services.
- Familiarity with Azure Portal, Azure PaaS/IaaS, Azure Network (VNETs, security zones), and monitoring tools (e.g., Application Insights).
- Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills.
- Strong problem-solving, communication (oral & written), and organizational skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and handle multi-tasking and pressure effectively.
- *Education:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education/work experience.
- *Salary & Benefits:**
- **Annual Salary:** $80,000.00 - $160,000.00, based on experience and other factors.
