Summary

GEICO seeks an Engineer II to build scalable, high-performance UI applications using C#, .NET, and Azure to transform customer experiences.

GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer II with a passion for building high-performance, low-latency platforms and applications. You will be a key member of our engineering staff, driving our insurance business transformation and redefining customer experiences.

This role is crucial for ensuring a frictionless customer experience and maintaining the highest standards of protection and availability across Business Services, Data, Platform, and Infrastructure Engineering teams. We thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment where priorities can shift quickly. The ideal candidate possesses broad technical knowledge, spanning front-end UIs to back-end systems.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems.
  • Develop and enhance front-end applications, contributing to back-end integration.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Participate in design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality.
  • Utilize C#, Dart, SQL, .Net, Flutter, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure services.
  • Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
  • Drive product definition and technical solutions.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience in C# and .NET frameworks.
  • 2+ years of experience in architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scaling).
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud services.
  • 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
  • Fluency in C# or similar modern object-oriented languages.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe).
  • In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms.
  • Understanding of HTML-5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON, and RESTful Web Services.
  • Familiarity with Azure Portal, Azure PaaS/IaaS, and Azure Network concepts.
  • Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • *Salary Range:** $80,000.00 - $160,000.00 annually.
