GEICO seeks an Engineer II to design and develop high-performance, UI-centric distributed systems, driving insurance business transformation.
GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer II to drive our insurance business transformation by building high-performance, low-latency platforms and applications. This role focuses on UI development while contributing to back-end integration within scalable, resilient distributed systems.

- Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems, primarily focusing on front-end application development and enhancement.
- Contribute to back-end integration and broader system functionality.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.
- Participate in design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality.
- Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
- Drive product definition and leverage technical skills to deliver optimal solutions.
- *Technical Environment:**
- *Qualifications & Experience:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education/work experience.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship) in C# and .NET frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scaling) of new and current systems.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- 2+ years of experience with open-source frameworks.
- Fluency in C# or similar modern object-oriented languages (Java, C++).
- In-depth knowledge of Computer Science data structures and algorithms.
- Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe).
- Understanding of HTML-5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON, and RESTful Web Services.
- Demonstrated experience in front-end development and user experience (UX), collaborating with designers and product managers.
- Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills.
- Understanding of existing Operational Portals (e.g., Azure Portal) and Monitoring Tools (e.g., Titan, Application Insights).
- Intermediate understanding of Azure Network (security zones, VNETs, Public Peered Services) and Azure PaaS/IaaS services.
