The Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position involves assisting disaster survivors and requires a strong background in emergency management. Your key responsibilities will include: **Core Responsibilities:** * Explaining agency policies and program details clearly to disaster survivors. * Communicating effectively with customers both orally and in writing. **Minimum Requirements:** Candidates must meet one of the following: * **Experience:** One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the IC-09 level in the Federal government, demonstrating the ability to explain policies and communicate with customers. * **Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR an LL.M. (if related). * **Combination:** A combination of qualifying education and experience. Experience can be gained in federal, state, local government, or the private sector. Volunteer work also counts as qualifying experience.
