Summary
Emergency Management Specialist to plan and lead federal agency exercises, ensuring continuity of operations and preparedness.
We are seeking a highly motivated Emergency Management Specialist to contribute to our critical mission. This role involves planning, designing, and executing exercises to enhance federal agency preparedness and continuity of operations.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Plan and prepare meetings for the execution of Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) or other Federal Agency-led exercises.
- Design and develop exercises focused on achieving specific learning objectives.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on training programs for continuity of operations (COOP) and emergency management requirements.
- Conduct specialized studies related to continuity and emergency preparedness.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (or comparable professional experience), which typically includes:
- **Competencies:** Strong abilities in Communications, Critical Thinking, Emergency Management, Project Management, and Technical Credibility.
- **Federal Applicants (Time-In-Grade):** Current or former Federal employees applying must meet Time-In-Grade requirements, including 52 weeks at the GS-12 level for this GS-13 position.
- **Physical Requirements:** Primarily sedentary work; some walking, standing, and light lifting. Must be prepared to adapt to unusual environmental conditions during exercises or actual emergencies.
