Summary

Federal role managing emergency communications, analysis, and operational readiness, requiring specialized experience or advanced education.

This federal position offers opportunities at the GS-09 and GS-11 grade levels, with non-competitive promotion potential to the target grade. The role focuses on critical emergency response operations and secure communication.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Receive, authenticate, interpret, and forward time-sensitive emergency action messages.
  • Utilize analytical and research techniques to resolve operational issues.
  • Develop reports, compile data, and create briefs using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Implement communication security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
  • (GS-11 specific) Prepare and maintain chronological logs of all operational events and incidents.
  • (GS-11 specific) Participate in mock emergency exercises to test plans and procedures.
  • (GS-11 specific) Alert applicable officials and agencies during emergency warnings.
  • *Qualifications:**
Applicants must meet specific experience or education requirements by the closing date. Current or former federal employees must meet Time-in-Grade requirements (1 year at the next lower grade level).

  • *For GS-09:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, demonstrating proficiency in at least two of the following:
* Handling time-sensitive emergency messages. * Using analytical and research techniques for problem-solving. * Developing reports/data with Microsoft Office. * Applying communication security measures.
  • **or Education:** A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, or an LL.B./J.D. in a relevant field.
  • **or Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
  • *For GS-11:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, demonstrating proficiency in at least two of the following:
* Handling time-sensitive emergency messages. * Preparing and maintaining chronological event logs. * Participating in mock emergency exercises. * Alerting officials and agencies during emergencies.
  • **or Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, or an LL.M. in a relevant field.
  • **or Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
