## Financial Director, Cultural/Research Institutions

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial leader to manage the financial operations and strategic planning for a zoological park, museum, research center, or cultural organization.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all financial functions, including developing and implementing financial and business policies, procedures, and program goals.
  • Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term strategic plans for business programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with senior officials on program execution, setting strategic priorities, establishing metrics, and reporting protocols.
  • Prepare comprehensive operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
  • Identify and leverage alternative funding sources to ensure sustainable and fiscally responsible organizational growth.
  • Build and maintain strong cooperative relationships with internal colleagues, external organizations, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate complex financial positions and solutions, both orally and in writing, to gain consensus across all levels.
  • Lead, supervise, and manage a multi-disciplinary workforce, fostering teamwork, high morale, and promoting talent attraction and retention.
### Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable subject matter field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one year of specialized experience at the GS-15 level or equivalent, demonstrating leadership in financial management for a zoological park, museum, research center, or cultural organization.
  • Proven managerial and leadership skills in overseeing financial functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, goal setting, and program execution.
  • Strong expertise in budget preparation, capital planning, and alternative funding strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing multi-disciplinary teams.
