Summary
Seeking an Advanced-Level Dietitian to lead complex nutrition care, drive strategic initiatives, and enhance Veteran health.
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an Advanced-Level Dietitian (GS-12) to provide comprehensive nutrition care and leadership.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for Veterans, applying an advanced scope of practice.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in developing nutrition-related services, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Provide expert consultative services regarding advanced therapies and nutrition research.
- Develop, monitor, and direct practice-specific benchmarks based on national standards of care.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate organizational nutrition initiatives and lead their implementation.
- Establish goals, measure outcomes, and report progress to medical center committees and healthcare teams.
- Lead staff development, create competencies, and develop training activities for nutrition personnel.
- Lead nutrition research studies or performance improvement projects, communicating findings effectively.
- Present complex nutrition information at seminars, workshops, and lectures to influence healthcare provision.
- *Requirements:**
- **Citizenship & Language:** U.S. Citizenship and English language proficiency.
- **Registration:** Must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
- **Advanced Certification:** Hold an Advanced Practice Certification from a nationally recognized certifying body directly related to the assignment. Examples include, but are not limited to: Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR), Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition (CSG), Registered Dietitian Nutritionist-Advanced Practitioner (RDN-AP), or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC).
- **Key Skills:**
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Nutrition Support Dietitian.
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) certification.
- Ability to independently write TPN orders and manage enteral nutrition modalities.
